Star finally shone

Well this week has been a better one and hopefully the first of many to remember, Starfoot decided that he would put is best foot forwards and won a novice hurdle by 12 lengths ridden by Tom Obrien. Tom gave him a brilliant ride and listened to instructions to the letter, the horse jumped really well and to be honest I did think that on the first circuit he was hating the ground, which was possibly still too soft for him in places. However once Tom had made his move to go for home the horse duly complied and they put the race to bed easily. I know it was a very average race but it has done Star’s confidence the world of good and he came out of the race like he had just had a quiet canter,

Ups and Downs (literally!)

Well the last few weeks have been trying to say that least! Captain Flash had schooled outstandingly over fences and we went to Warwick with high hopes and a certain amount of confidence, however horses make fools of us all the time... Now Flash is the type of horse that needs you to tell him that there is a jump coming and to give him a good chance to see said fence, he likes to run at the front on the outside so he has all the time in the world to see his fences…So at Warwick when he ended up on the inside behind horses he would have been running along merrily watching the horse in front’s bottom until he got the fright of his life and spied the open ditch, causing him to launch a stride e
